Critical: Professionalism Sadly an unbelievably aggressive approach taken by this company to payment. Work done on 29th December and court proceedings issued on 6th January. No indication that payment terms were anything other than normal 7 or 14 days. No warning that court proceedings would be issued. Man on site was good so obviously very aggressive company.

I had a very disappointing encounter with them. Boiler gave an error message, which of course happened during a rather cold night. I decided to call a plumber and found J and P online. Got charged 95 for the call and the time, which seems reasonable since it was same day appointment. However, not only nothing was fixed, I was then told that the boiler was 'old' (mind you, less than 10 yr old), and it needed at least 3 parts replaced for a total cost of 800. Was also suggested to buy a new boiler for 1800. Decided to get a second opinion.
A British Gas technician fixed my boiler in less than an hour today. He found that one of the key cables (for the boiler to work) was left unplugged behind the (screwed-in) panel. Also the fan was dirty and needed a wash. Problem solved and boiler is working again. Almost make me think you guys are a bunch of crooks. oh, wait. You asked me to email you, and the email bounced back. Just saying. *cough crooks cough*

Rob from J&P fixed a leaking shower for us where the seal between the drainage pipe had come away. This was in an attic conversion where the previous builders had clearly done a complete bodge job on the whole bathroom, using a chipboard floor to support everything and even building a homemade vanity unit. Rob stripped everything down quickly and installed a proper hardwood floor base before fixing the shower issue, retiling, grouting and replacing all the sealant.
He clearly knows what he is doing, likes to do things properly and was polite and efficient throughout. Not your average tradesman, in my experience. Highly recommended, and I wouldn't hesitate to get him back in to do any future work.

My boiler expired suddenly and as a result we were without hot water or heating. Rob Quayle from J and P was literally outside my door inside half an hour after our call and patiently explained the situation and what my options were. He went away and gave me a chance to think about what I wanted to do, and when we eventually decided to go for a new boiler he was able to recommend a make and model and fit it the very next day.
As a result we were only without hot water and heating for 24 hours in total. He was also polite, knowledgeable and respectful in our home, something we greatly appreciated. Would recommended as a first port of call for anyone that needs boiler service/renewal.

Cant thank you enough for sending Rob Quayle over to me to sort out my boiler, what a star he was. Nothing was to much trouble for him. He was knowledgeable, experienced and most of all his work was exceptionally tidy, he even changed my light bulb for me. Would definitely recommend you guys and wouldn't think of calling anyone else.
