CompetentRoofer provides certification to the roofing industry as a "Competent Person" scheme operator under Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG) Building Regulations for the replacement of roof coverings on all roof types. When 50% or more of the roof is being replaced, it is a legally requirement to notify the Local Authority Building Control (LABC) and comply with the relevant Building Regulations.

New roof terrace and new French doors. Very good job, thoroughly professional throughout. Great attention to detail. Every aspect of the job was good, from comprehensive quotes through to completion, very professional and competent staff, always turned up on time, very hard working, as unobtrusive as possible, and all very likeable. Always left the site tidy at the end of each day. Responded promptly to any queries as they arose.
Good also to see that health and safety were very important throughout the job & to see that staff retention was good, always a good sign. If only all home maintenance work could be like this.

The expertise which GWS Roofing brought to bear on their first job for us, which was to reroof a double pitched roof on a three bedroom terraced house in NW London, meant that they became our go to roofers from thereon in. They finished the job on time at the end of March 2020 without any fuss notwithstanding the intervention of the first lockdown in England that month which caused almost total paralysis just about everywhere else.
Last year the same calm, careful professionalism was on display when GWS Roofing redid a patio/roof in our offices in Shoreditch. This was a slightly more fiddly job, as there were things such as wrought iron spiral staircases in the middle of the patio/roof for them to contend with, whilst the weakness of the original timber meant that they had to make a temporary roof above the real roof/patio in the course of redoing it.
I'm very much hoping that they will now be coming to quote on our next assignment, which is to repoint the facade of our house in London, which has been neglected for some 30 years.

We needed the entire roof of our house replaced. GWS offered a fair quote and honoured it. They were always on time, straight forward and pleasant to deal with.
